ISO/IEC-17025 Accreditation

Radiant Vision Systems is pleased to offer ISO 17025 calibration certificates on request for combinations of cameras and lenses in our product lines of ProMetric® Y-Series Imaging Photometers and ProMetric® I-Series Imaging Colorimeters. Radiant’s calibration laboratory in Redmond, WA has received NVLAP accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

ISO/IEC 17025 enables an organization to demonstrate that they operate competently, and their instruments produce valid results in line with international quality standards, thereby promoting confidence in their work around the world. Radiant’s ISO:17025 accreditation signals that camera systems calibrated in its Redmond lab can produce measurements (luminance and chromaticity) that are traceable to a recognized metrology standard from an official quality organization—in the U.S., that organization is NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology). ISO 17025 also helps facilitate cooperation between laboratories and other bodies around the globe. Test reports and calibration certificates can be accepted from one country to another without the need for further testing, which in turn improves international trade.

At Radiant’s Redmond headquarters, there are two main differences between our standard factory calibration and the optional ISO-17025 calibration and certification. The first difference is all calibration standards and tools associated with the ISO-17025 calibration process are certified by ISO-17025 accredited metrology labs. The second difference is a statement of uncertainty included in our calibration certificate. This provides our customers with a higher degree of certainty about any reported measurement of a device under test and the extent the measurement can vary from a known true value of the calibration standard.
